John Fitzgerald Kennedy

John Fitzgerald Kennedy was born in 1917 in Brookline, Massachusetts. He became President of the United States starting January 20, 1961 until 22 November 1963 when he was killed in Dallas, Texas. I'll set aside most of the data biografisnya, because it had the same question in mind and because of general political and personal activities with little relevance Kennedy he was in the presence
of this book list.

A thousand years to come, both "Peace Corps" or "Alliance for Progress" or event "Bay of Pigs" will not be remembered. So did Kennedy political action in the field of tax legislation and civil rights. John F. Kennedy included in this book lists only for one reason only: he was the person responsible for the establishment of "Space Program, Apollo." Even if people did not utter a small object on the sidelines is always a busy time, we can be sure that even 5000 years from our trip to the moon is still considered an extraordinary event, an important event in human history.

I will talk about the importance of the moon program further. First, allow me to connect this issue with a question, is it true of John F. Kennedy was the most major role in this journey to the moon. Did not Neil Armstrong or Edwin Aldrin, the first person to actually set foot on the moon? If we put the names of people in this book list on the basis of his fame in the long term, may properly so, because I suspect more like Neil Armstrong will be remembered 5000 years people would come over John F. Kennedy. But from the point of impact, Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin's not important at all. If by reason of this or that because both men had died two months before the launch of Apollo 11, astronauts will have a dozen well-trained and highly skilled who are ready to replace it slid to the moon.

Or should we give awards to Wernher von Braun or other scientists or engineers who have given thought and energy contributions that allow the exploration of space? No doubt Wernher von Braun had a greater stake in promoting the excavation mysteries of space (as well as do its predecessors such as Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, Robert H. Goddard and Hermann Oberth). However, once the political decision has been taken for the implementation of the Apollo project, not a scientist too - not their group also consists of excellent experts - able to break through this complex issue. Break-hassle way to the moon it is not a purely scientific progress, but a political decision. Politics of yellow lights and provide 24 billion dollars for this project.

Dated July 20, 1969 Apollo 11 astronauts left on the foot trail surface of the moon, Kennedy's promise in May 1961 to land a space vehicle bermanusia the moon "before the end of this decade"

Well, what about the political decisions? Was the decision sooner or later it will come even without the John F. Kennedy? I suspect that hard - although this is not so sure - at some point a decision the government will finance the human journey to the moon. Of course, John F. Kennedy did not impose this program when people objected.

On the other hand, there was no pressure and insistence of the people against the cost of the project is not absurdly large grass. If in 1959 or in 1960, the United States Congress passed the Apollo program and provide funds for it, and if the law had been vetoed by President Eisenhower, Kennedy bisalah say that just carried away by the currents of public opinion. However, the facts show the opposite: a lot of Americans want the space program, but there was no noise in the community who objected to a major program. Even after the Apollo 11 success, no significant public gossip to the problem of whether the program is worth the cost of it. Since the year 1969, of course, NASA's budget declined very fast.

Because it was obvious, is that the leadership of John F. Kennedy, who led the Apollo program was able to walk. Kennedylah who on May 1, 1961 promised that the United States would land a spacecraft on the moon man charged "before the end of this decade." Kennedy was obtained funds from Congress, and under Kennedy's program was designed. One could believe that the program to the moon will happen sooner or later (something that is not really sure), but Kennedy's obvious who did it.

Some people, of course, still feel that the Apollo project is merely self-self and of course have no significance. So far, no sign commemorating the date was July 20, 1969 as a historic day, for example, the national day. Conversely, we also know that even though the Columbus Day is not celebrated in the 16th century, he is celebrated today as a sign of the rising dawn of a new era.

In fact, if the Apollo project was never passed, yet still continue to be remembered as the greatest works in the human perpacuan highest achievement. But, I think, the Apollo program will be continued and a trip to space will be a greater role in the future than ever before. If so, our grandchildren will feel that way Apollo 11, as well as Columbus' journey across the Atlantic Ocean, is the starting point of the whole new era in human history. Michael H.
